Enable Cmdlets for SCCM

Se below for steps.  Unfortunately, after I loaded the module, it didn’t work until I located the file and manually imported it.  Sigh.

Import-Module 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Configuration Manager\AdminConsole\bin\ConfigurationManager.psd1'

Installing the System Center Configuration Manager Cmdlet Library

Here’s how to install the cmdlet library

  1. Download ConfigMgr2012PowerShellCmdlets.msi from the Microsoft Download Center.
  2. Follow the instructions in the setup wizard to install the System Center Configuration Manager Cmdlet Library.

After the installation you can use the cmdlets in the library.

THEN: You will need to connect to a Site Server before the commands work or you’ll get the error: To run this command you must first connect to a Configuration Manager drive.

Example:

CD CM1: (where CM1 is the site name)
